In the genome-first approach, this paradigm is inverted, where individuals as ascertained based on their germline risk variant and then phenotype is evaluated. This promises to improve risk, survival and penetrance estimates and understanding of the associated phenotype, with obvious implications for genetic counseling and clinical care. Given its novelty, awareness of the genome-first approach is limited. The proposed talk will update attendees on the latest developments in the genome-first approach from a speaker with experience in analyzing multiple population-scale cohorts using these methods. Learning Objectives: Describe the genome-first approach to understanding cancer risk Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the genome-first and phenotype-first approaches Demonstrate how the genome-first approach can affect clinical care Speakers: Kris Ann Schultz, MD Douglas Stewart, MD {1} ##LOC[OK]## {1} ##LOC[OK]## ##LOC[Cancel]## {1} ##LOC[OK]## ##LOC[Cancel]## Product Details Webinar - The Genome-First Approach to Cancer-Predisposition Disorders Webinar - The Genome-First Approach to Cancer-Predisposition Disorders {1} ##LOC[OK]## {1} ##LOC[OK]## ##LOC[Cancel]## {1} ##LOC[OK]## ##LOC[Cancel]## List Price: $35.00 USD Member Price: Free Back to Product Details {1} ##LOC[OK]## {1} ##LOC[OK]## ##LOC[Cancel]## {1} ##LOC[OK]## ##LOC[Cancel]## Please login to add items.
